BR Class 23 D5908
D5908, one of the class 23 'Baby Deltics' arrived on the railway from a site in south London at the end of November. The engine was in poor shape, and an immediate examination was undertaken upon its arrival. D5908 is now available for service and has been finished in Two Tone BR Green with double arrows.
BR Class 31 D5627
D5627 arrived on the railway in late April 2023, and has been a sterling performer since arrival. Finished in BR Green, the engine fits in well with the lines other BR Diesels.

This locomotive is owned by the chairman, and is frequently used on engineers trains, as well as spot hire to mainline operators.

BR Class 47 D1746 'M S Gibson'
This locomotive is owned by the chairman, and has been released into traffic in BR two tone Green. The locomotive is named after the chairmans late paternal grandfather Michael Sidney Gibson.

Type 27 Wickham Trolley MPP0007
This Wickham Trolley is used alongside the lines pway services to maintain the trackwork where large trains aren't required. It is maintained by the pway department, and is usually stored at Wheldrake in the yard.

D8407 is currently available for service and mainline use with WCRC.
Ex BR, Class 08 08810
08810 was the railways very first shunter, it arrived from Crawley in 2002, and after running for serveral years, was withdrawn from service. It returned to traffic briefly in 2011, but after it's traction motor blower flashed over, it was withdrawn post haste, and has been under overhaul since then until january 2023. The engine has retained it's Anglia livery that it sported when it arrived to the line 21 years ago, however, it has been redone entirely.

Ex BR, NSE Class 08 08641 Dartmoor
Dartmoor was purchased a in early 2012 as a partner for 08600 Ivor. After the final papers were signed, was shipped off to us, however, due to the recent late winter snow fall, 08641 only arrived on 12/02/2012.

SR Maunsell 350hp shunter No.3
The engine was created using the usable remains of an 08 used for spares for 08600 and 08641, the Southern locomotives trust purchased the remains from us and proceeded to build No.3 with them using plans sought from a descendant of Richard Maunsell. The engine was completed off site on Feburary 22nd 2014, and arrived on the 26th.

BR Class 73 73108 Burdock
73108 Burdock seen minus Nameplates
73108 was purchased from BR on withdrawal and was supplied with a spare set of traction motors from an already disposed member of the class. The engine has subsequently been named Burdock having failured on multiple occasions in it's early days on the line due to the air intakes taking in dandelion seeds from nearby fields during the summer season of 2000.

BR Class 33/0 33063 R J Mitchell
33063 with the Snow King and Snow Queen
33063 R J Mitchell is on long term loan from the South East Loco Group, commonly based at The Spa Valley Railway. The loco is to be a star attraction on the line over the coming years.

Express Dairies Ruston & Hornsby 48DS
One of the lines smallest engines, this Ruston & Hornsby 48DS is one of two on the line. The engine has been finished in the deep blue livery of Express Dairies, as it wore when working at their bottling plant at Morden South.
BR Class 08 08833 (D4001) 'Liverpool Street Pilot'
08833 was purchased for spares to assist with the maintenance of the three NSE 08's, however in 2016, the owning group were gifted a sum of money from a benefactor to restore the engine to how it was in service when based at Liverpool Street station, complete in GER Royal Blue with a White cab roof. The engine was returned to service in 2018.

BR 58 58021 'Hither Green Depot'
58021 was bought to the railway by the a private group. The engine arrived in reasonable condition and was quickly sent into the workshops to be finished up, alongside 37055, which was recieving it's repaint into Mainline Blue, it was decided to paint 58021 in this scheme too. The loco is now available for service, and is usually seen on the engineers trains midweek, and some weekends on service trains.

BR Class 08 08648

Ruston PWM 952
The railway is very lucky to be the home of both Ruston 'Permanent Way Machines' (PWM's). 952 has been finished in BR Blue, and it's sister 951 has been outshopped in Engineers Yellow. The two locomotives will bolster the Shunter roster, and take away the workload on the 08's and 09's.
BR Class 09 09006
Whilst externally looking the same as the lines class 08 shunters, 09006 is geared for 27.5mph running, allowing the locomotive to be utilised on passenger trains. The engine has been outshopped in Mainline blue.

BR Class 205 2H 205001
This class 205 DEMU was a staple workhorse on the Southern Region network. The unit has been painted up in it's Network Southeast livery, which it wore in service during the late 1990's.

BR Class 03 D2011
D2011 was built at Swindon Works in 1958. Withdrawn in October 1972, it was sent for scrap. However, the Doncaster Valley Railway Diesel Society (DVRDS) were looking for a BR Shunter, other than the ubiquitous 08 shunters. Whilst searching for one, they came across D2011. After negotiations, the shunter was moved down to Bromley Locomotive works, where it was overhauled. The locomotive has been loaned out to Cedar Court Wagon Works, to assist with their large workload following the poor weather at the back end of 2022.

Janus NCB No.6 Roger H Bennett
Built by the Yorkshire Engine Company, Janus 0-6-0 shunter YE 2748, NCB No.6 Roger H Bennett was used at Littleton Colliery, and was preserved at the Churnet Valley Railway. We have taken the locomotive on long term loan for a period of 13 years, which will see the engine undergo a mid term overhaul.

NSE Class 08 Diesel Shunter No.08600 IVOR
IVOR was bought by the DVR from the EGSR during the summer months and is so far the lines only 08 shunter in this livery and to act as a station pilot. Occasionally, she can be seen hauling the SR two coach stock when rostered.
