Today saw the return of 34006 and 55 Stepney, along with Maunsell Brake 6575 from the West Sussex Railway. Also arriving at Wheldrake with them was SR Maunsell N class mogul 1860 which has been placed on loan temporarily following a failure with 1C113 during its visit to the West Sussex line, resulting in us having no service loco for the following few weeks. It is expected to return to the WSR by November 11th or there abouts.

Due to severed connections on the West Sussex Railway this weekend, because of the adverse weather, their gala was called off. 1C113 was thankfully delayed too due to a shunt, being required to get it out of the works and onto the national network, taking longer than expected because Network Rail's overseer for the operation failed to turn up on time.
1C113 is currently rostered on the LNER vintage set which currently is made up of the two Clerstory composites, one of the two brake ends, and LNER 4W coach 138, the second brake end is having its wheels retired and 137 is having its roof repaired, hence them not being apart of the set currently.
68010 has been rostered on the engineers train, which is made up of, for today only, Trout hopper 843E, 5 plank 629184 and Steel High Sided open wagon 278785 and LNER short wheel base brake van 178595. This formation of wagons, with an Ex LNER loco on the front makes for a good oportunity for photographers to get snapping away a

The loco was last seen in use on a vintage set, albeit as a static loco with J72 69022 providing the motive power to locate the engine for the shots, back in the early half of this year. Work is expected to take a while, but, it is hoped that she will be ready in time for the Vintage trains gala early next year.
Thompson Full Brake E141E and Riddles' Austerity 0-6-0ST 68010 have arrived on the railway. 68010 was a swap from the West Sussex Railway for Ivatt 41212, which was originally from there. E141E arrived three weeks ago and after a thorough exam, it was declared good for service and is now used as a temporary brake end for the Pullman train, and sometimes an extra brake end for the Maroon set.
On Sunday 7th, some of our stock will be heading to the West Sussex Railw
