We have decided to start a few new build/ Conversion projects of which funding is already available to use.
LNER J89 No.8398. The engine will be completed in due course, and will be outshopped in LNER Black. The engine is to be named on completion to comemorate the engines entry to service. A spare Jinty Boiler, cab and tanks are being used for this project, however, there will be slight modifications to them. The safety valves are inspired by that of Marsh and Billington, two of the LBSCR's loco designers, the former of which studied under H.A.Ivatt for the GNR. a Westinghouse pump will be fitted as so that it can perform shunting tasks at other lines, such as the Isle of White.
Using LNER Composite 22356, we are creating an GNR/ LNER Directors saloon, similar to that which is based at Carnforth WCRC. The coach entered the works in December 2012, and has had its internal fittings gutted from it. A start has been made to the Kitchen area and the saloon end, of which some of the doors will be blocked off from being opened. the Kitchen area takes up a 5th of the coach, and is situated in the 1st class area, with what was the 3rd class section becoming the saloon. The coach will retain it's original number, but will be shortened to 235. It is hoped that the carriage will be completed in time for the Easter break.
